Lawrence Dean Adkins

Lawrence (Larry) D Adkins, age 79, of Independence, Missouri, went home to be with our Lord October 25, 2017 after a long fight with chronic health conditions. His love for his family and his belief in God gave him peace and was a great comfort to him during his journey on to the hereafter. Larry was born August 8,1938 and he is survived by his loving wife Glenda Adkins whom he was married to for 62 years. He was born to the late Samuel and Laura Adkins; and is survived by son Russell Adkins; daughters Toni Bond and Tammie Lance; grandchildren Brandon Adkins, Shawn Adkins, Sarah Crosby, Laura Keyworth, Jeremy Lance, Jason Lance, Michelle Scott; great grandchildren Ida Keyworth , Michael Keyworth, Nora Scott; brother Clarence Adkins Larry was an extremely hard worker. He was a maintenance mechanic for many years before going into business for himself as a installer then salesman of industrial bottling machinery. Larry was a very giving person, not just to his family and friends but to people he never met before. He had a sharp mind, quick wit, and would always have a story to tell to make you laugh. He enjoyed holidays, vacations with family, riding his mower cutting grass, fishing, and his pet horses, dogs and cats. The visitation will be October 30, 2017 (11–1 pm) at Noland Road Chapel in Independence, Missouri. The service will be officiated by Pastor David Botts, Central Mission Community of Christ.
