

Patricia Marie Brown, age 91, of Independence, Missouri passed away on Monday, March 17, 2025 surrounded by her loving family. She entered life on June 19th, 1933 at 824 Ash Street in Independence, Missouri, the daughter of James Pierce Renfrow and Alice Marie Daniels.
Pat graduated from William Christian High School and began working in an insurance office, then a doctors office, and finally for her father at Machinery Spare Parts in Independence.
In 1951 she joined RLDS Church, later the Community of Christ Church, and in 1952, she married William Thomas Brown. They were blessed with one son, James thomas Brown in 1965.
Tom Brown worked for the federal government and his job took he and Pat first to Wichita, Kansas for one year, then to Montana for eight years, and finally to Weatherford, Texas for ten years. Tom Brown passed away in Weatherford in 1991, and Pat moved back to Independence in 1992.
Pat loved to square dance, read books, sew and knit, and play card games, until her eye sight began to fail. She especially enjoyed making teddy bears for children in hospitals when she lived at the Fountains at Greenbriar in Independence.
Pat was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, brothers James Pierce and Homer Daniel and sister Betty Joan Johnson. She is survived by her sister Pamela Louise McClure (Jon) in Bermingham, Alabama, her son James, two grandsons, Justine Thomas and Lane Thomas, and three granddaughters, Kia Jean, Masa Anna, and Cheyenne Marie.
A funeral service for Patricia will be held Friday, March 21, 2025 from 12:00 PM to 12:45 PM at Newcomer's Noland Road Chapel, 509 S NOLAND RD, INDEPENDENCE, MO 64050. A visitation will occur Friday, March 21, 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, 509 S NOLAND RD, INDEPENDENCE, MO 64050.A graveside service will occur Friday, March 21, 2025 from 1:30 PM to 1:45 PM at Floral Hills Funeral Home and Cemetery, 7000 BLUE RIDGE BLVD, KANSAS CITY, MO 64133.
