Ron was born in Kansas City, Missouri on August 30, 1931 to Timothy and Mary Stalker. He had two brothers, Robert {who predeceased him} and Steve Stalker.
Ron loved his country and was a proud veteran of the U. S. Army. He saw action in the Korean War. Ron prayed throughout his service in Korea to come home, marry a good woman and raise a happy family.
Ron’s prayers were answered on May 30, 1951, when he married his loving wife Jackie in Kansas City, Missouri. She survives him. They celebrated 64 years of marriage. In love and with love they raised two sons, Randy {Karen} and Mark and one daughter, Kelly Moorhouse {who predeceased him} {Scott}.
Ron loved his three children and joyfully welcomed his 8 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, cousins and extended family into his arms with love. Ron did not have in-laws, they were family. Ron did not have friends, they were also family.
Ron retired from the U. S. Postal Service where he served as a Letter Carrier, Supervisor and a Station Manager. Upon retirement, Ron became a home builder and provided quality homes to his customers. During retirement, he enjoyed playing and watching golf. He and Jackie were long time Chiefs season ticket holders and avid fans of the K. C. Royals. Ron and Jackie found joy volunteering to work at the church food pantry. Ron also volunteered for other services in the church and in his community. He was a Christian and served as an Elder in the Presbyterian Church, later attending and volunteering at Woods Chapel United Methodist Church.
Ron enjoyed membership in NAPS, the Masons and the VFW enriching not only his life but the lives of others as well.
A visitation and Celebration of Life Service will be held Thursday, January 26, 2017, at D.W. Newcomers Funeral Home located at 509 S. Noland Road in Independence, Missouri. Visitation will be from 6:30 to 7:30 PM and the service will begin at 7:30 PM.
Our lives have all been enriched and we are grateful for the life and love of this truly great man, Ron Stalker.
