

Walker Heath Finley, 77, passed away October 4, at home surrounded by his loving family. Newcomers Noland Road will handle cremation, a Memorial Service will be held at 1:00pm, Oct. 15th, 2016, with visitation following, at First Baptist Church of Independence, 500 W Truman Road, Independence, Mo. Walker graduated from East High School, class of 1956. Walker served in the U.S. Army from 1961 to 1964, part of a missile battalion called to action during the Cuban Missile Crisis. Walker was honorably discharged as a Sergeant E-5. On January 9, 1965 Walker Heath Finley married Sheila Joy Vroom. By each other's side for well over 50 years, they shared a lifetime of countless memories. Walker was an avid bowler for many years. He and his wife, Sheila, enjoyed square dancing with the Holden On's Square Dance Club for several years. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing with family and friends. Walker was preceded in death by his parents and his two brothers. He leaves his beloved wife, Sheila, of the home, a son Todd, and his wife Cherie, two grandchildren, Gabrielle and Austin, a son, David and his wife Darlene, and a brother-in-law Larry Vroom.
