He is survived by brothers Larry (Colleen) of Kelowna, BC and Roger (Beverley) of Ottawa, ON; nieces: Michelle (Alex - Xander & Isla), Andrea (Michael- Felix), Ashley (Phil - Jude) and Brittany (Cole) and nephew Andrew (Brittany - Bode & Tatum).
David will be greatly missed by his good friend Marilyn Miller and family. Marilyn was a great support to David over the many years.
David was born in Ottawa, Ontario on May 28, 1963 into an air force family. He grew up moving across the country from Ontario to British Columbia and eventually back to Ottawa.
His fondest times include the endless summer vacations at Delta Beach, Manitoba with his family and especially his cousins. Also the endless games of Risk lasting through the Christmas holidays where David would continually roll sixes - laughing as he conquered your countries.
David followed his Uncle Stan into a career with CP Rail Signals. He was very proud of his important work, often on call in remote areas of Northern Ontario and Saskatchewan. He would venture out at all hours and in bad weather to repair signal systems to keep the trains rolling safely.
Later on in life, David bravely faced a battle with kidney disease, enduring years of painful dialysis until he received a kidney transplant 10 years ago for which he was eternally grateful.
David was always quick to smile, break into laughter or lend a helping hand to get it done!
David you will be dearly missed and always in our hearts.
A celebration of David’s life will be held in the spring of 2024 Calgary, AB, date to be announced.
