Elizabeth Ruby Mayer

April 8, 1940 – September 14, 2023

Elizabeth (Liz) passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 14, 2023 in the Indian Head Hospital at the age of 83 years.

She was predeceased by her parents Harry and Mary Poitras; brothers: Eddie, George, Clifford and Irvin; sisters: Eva, Alice, Gladys and Anne and grandson Chance.

Liz leaves to mourn her husband Allan of 61 years; sons Steven (Lynn) of Regina and John (Tracy) of Regina; daughter Lisa Mayer of Indian Head; grandchildren: Devan, Carson, Garret (Kalyssa), Austin (Kendi), Taylor, Cobi (Dyllan), Rance, Rylan and Aidan; great-grandchildren Ren and Mylo; brothers Marshall and Larry; sister Olive as well as numerous nephews and nieces.

She was born and raised in the Qu’Appelle Valley Katepwa District then later moving to Sintaluta and eventually settling in Indian Head where she married Allan in 1962. She worked at the PFRA, the Golden Prairie Nursing Home, then the Indian Head Hospital where she retired after about 22 years. Liz loved playing cards, family gatherings, and walking (especially with Rocky).

The funeral mass was celebrated in St. Joseph R.C. Church, Indian Head on Thursday, September 21 at 10:00 a.m. by Rev. Francis Hengen.
