Sweet had been a Chipper at the Indianapolis Chrysler Foundry. He was also a member of the Freedom Riders Motorcycle Club.
He leaves to cherish his memory and celebrate his life, wife, Lois Dowdell, children: Ray A. Dowdell, Allester K. Dowdell, Carl Blakemore, Marluss Dowdell, Alvesta Dowdell, Renee Richardson, Jeanenne Blakemore, Kwan Pinson and Valeria Brogran; Special Friend, Genola Lacy; siblings: Daniel Dowdell, Aritha Hudson and Carrie Jackson and a host of grandchildren and extended family and friends.
Sweet's visitation will take place on Friday, December 20, 2013, 9am - 11am, with the Homegoing Service at 11am at St. Luke Missionary Baptist Church. The burial will immediately follow at New Crown Cemetery.
