

Arbie Leon Lankford, known affectionately by his wife as “Honey”, was born on December 21, 1953 in Indianapolis, Indiana to the late Mr. James Lankford and Mrs. Sophia Mae Lankford (Mason). He was the eldest of his siblings.
Arbie was employed as a Motor Coach Operator with Millers Transportation for 3 years. Before joining Millers Transportation he was a Correctional Officer for the Indiana Department of Corrections for 24 years. He was also a reserved Police Officer for Rocky Ripple and IMPD from 1993 to 2010.
While working as a reserved Police Officer, he met Juliet “Boo” Marshall. On February 16, 2008, Arbie united in holy matrimony with Juliet. Together with the good times and the trying times, they loved and stood by one another for 13 years. He was a loving father to all of his children and grandchildren.
Arbie professed a hope in Christ at an early age. He united with New Beginnings Fellowship Church in 2018 and served in the Men’s Ministry called Sons With Amazing Testimonies (SWAT). Before joining NewB Indy he was a proud member of Transforming Life Church in which he served as a Deacon for 3 years.
Arbie enjoyed traveling, watching movies, his motorcycles, and spending quality time with his family and his dog. He was a social butterfly and loved being around people and telling his life experiences with everyone he met. He will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved him.
“Honey” departed this earthly life and gained his heavenly wings on Sunday, May 16, 2021 at the age of 67 years. Arbie left to cherish the indelible memories of yesterday are his devoted wife, Juliet D. Lankford; sons, Correy Marshall (LaKiesha) and James Lankford; daughter, Adria Lankford; sister, Dianne “Cookie” Blanchard (Perry Sr.);brothers, Paul Mason Jr. and Mike Thurman (Shirley); grandchildren, Alize Lankford (19), Mikyla Lankford (4), and Cyrus Marshall (4 months) and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended relatives and friends.
Public Visitation Tuesday, May 25, 2021, 10am-12pm at Williams & Bluitt Funeral Home, 5252 E. 38th St. Indianapolis, IN. Funeral services and Interment private.
