On Wednesday June 28, 2017 Barbara Jeanette (Shipp) Sanders, 75, passed from this life to spend eternity with her husband Lee (Leroy) Sanders who preceded her in death in November 2016 after being together for more than 54 years.
Barbara was born on January 19, 1942 at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana to Mary Helen (Hopper) Miller (deceased) and Walter Shipp, Jr. who currently resides in Arizona.
Barbara was a devoted wife and homemaker, who spent many years caring for Lee as his Parkinson's Disease progressively worsened. Barbara worked for many years at Lazarus (Macy's) in Greenwood, IN where she developed her love
for shoes and jewelry. Barbara will be missed by the staff and residents at Nora Commons where she and Lee lived for many years.
Barbara leaves behind her son Robert W. Sanders (Stephanie); her daughter Janice M. Gilliam (Paul); 5 stepchildren; sisters Valarie D. (Calvin) Mayfield (Christopher) and Vicki A. (Calvin) Kraemer (Nick); brother Hugh L.. Calvin (Christine); and nieces Heather N. Calvin; Jennifer L. (Calvin) Coughtrey (Robert); and Zarah K. Calvin.
