She was born March 9, 1929 in Indianapolis Indiana. She loved to laugh, jest, joke and bring cheer to those in her presence.

She was a loyal friend to Maxine Buford, Janet Jackson, Irma ?? and many others. She was a career woman retiring from Naval Avionics as an Inspector with security clearance.

She was a businesswoman owning and operating Elegant Pillows.

She was an excellent seamstress, a flower arranger, a traveler, and an Asian art collector.

She was a proud graduate of Crispus Attucks High School class of 1946, and a modern woman.

She was a loving wife to her high school sweetheart, football star, and golfer Robert L. Washington. She designed her house and together with Robert Lee was the general contractor for its construction.

She was a loving, obedient daughter to Dudley V. Starms and Magdelene Manning Starms.

She was a loving, true sister to Dudley A. Starms, Jr. and Jill Starms Anderson.

She was a loving aunt and friend to Kevin Starms, Kim Starms, Leslie Anderson Bassett, Paula Anderson Cox and Nikki Anderson Cheeks.

She was an instructive loving mother to Anthony L. Washington, Rashida Muhammad, and grandmother to Jacob Thurman Casey Washington and Makeda Magdelene Bergart Washington.

At 9:00 am Thursday March 18, 2010 she was called home by the Creator and joined the ancestors. We rejoice in her life and passage.
