Betty married Cohen McNeill and to that union she had one daughter Rhonda L. McNeill-Chapman and later she married Jesse D. Davis Sr. and to that union there were no children but she became a mother to a wonderful son Jesse D. Davis Jr. Her greatest joy was her family. She never missed a chance to remind them how much she loved them and how proud she was of the individuals they had each become.
Betty spent her life serving and helping others. She took great pride in her work at AT&T, where she was a dedicated long-distance operator and retired after 26 years of service. Her love for helping people continued even after retirement, leading her to begin a new chapter as a CNA at Miller's Merry Manor Nursing Home.
Betty gave her life to Christ at a young age where she attended Bethel Tabernacle and was filled with the Holy Spirit. During her time there, she served faithfully on the Nurses Guild and in the Women's Ministry. She later became a member of Calvary Temple of Indianapolis, where she continued to grow in her spiritual walk with Christ while serving in hospitality and volunteering in the church office. In her later years, she was a devoted member of The Bridge Church, where she was known for greeting everyone with a warm smile and a loving hug.
Betty loved to shop on HSN and QVC-she often joked that they were her best friends. She also never passed a Goodwill she didn't like, always finding joy in the thrill of a good bargain hunt. She loved to cook and spend time gardening. She enjoyed listening to gospel music and cherished her quiet mornings on the front porch, spending time with God and watching her neighborhood come to life.
Betty went to be with the lord on October 14, 2025, having had the joy of seeing all her grown children and grandchildren in the days before God called her home.
She was preceded in death by her parents Edward L. Lewis Sr. and Blanche F. Lewis, first husband Cohen McNeill, second husband Jesse D. Davis Sr., her brother Edward L. Lewis Jr. and sister Brenda J. Lewis-Porter, stepfather Herbert Frazier Sr., and brother Herbert Frazier Jr.
Betty is survived by daughter Rhonda Chapman (Edwin), granddaughter Netra Faeborn (Elphaba), grandson Julian Chapman, granddaughter Rosetta Hayes, son Jesse D. Davis Jr. (Lisa), granddaughters Kayla & Jada Davis, sister Sylva Frazier-Roach (Fredrick), sister Anita C. Frazier-Marion and a host of loving family and friends.
