Bunah Eva Nell Clifford Crutchfield, age 86, passed away peacefully on January 3, 2026. A longtime resident of Indianapolis, Indiana, she was born to Charles "Dike" Clifford and Lillian Meadows Clifford on February 20, 1939, in Henderson, Tennessee where she completed her primary and secondary education.
Lovingly known by family and close friends as "Shot", Eva was united in marriage to Bobby Crutchfield on December 27, 1957, and devoted her life to family, faith, and service. She was a faithful member of Northeast Church of Christ, where her love for God and others was evident through her actions, kindness, and quiet strength.
She retired after more than 30 years of dedicated service at Eli Lilly and continued giving back to her community through volunteering at Community East Hospital, reflecting her lifelong heart for service and compassion.
She enjoyed playing spades, bid whist and getting up early enough to slow smoke a slab of ribs. She did not miss episodes of Family Feud, Judge Judy, or her stories. She was an avid reader of romance novels and mysteries and was known to throw up a few shots if a basketball rolled her way.
Eva was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Crutchfield; her sons, Felix Crutchfield I and Rodney Crutchfield; and her siblings, Bobby Clifford, Burdean Thomas, Ruby Carmichael, and Lardell Harbour.
She leaves to cherish her memory her daughter, Sherry Jones; her grandchildren, Felix Crutchfield II, Eudahnas (Jason) Hale, Destinee L. Crutchfield, Maurice L. Crutchfield, Dominique Crutchfield, and Evita C. Crutchfield; and her great-grandchildren, James O. Napier Jr., Braelyn S. Crutchfield, Jack M. Crutchfield, Erias D. Freeman, and Leyla Freeman; along with many extended family members and friends who loved her dearly.
Eva will be remembered for her strength, kindness, unwavering faith, and deep devotion to family. Her legacy lives on through the generations she nurtured and the countless lives she touched.
