Carrie attended Bremen High School and later pursued vocational training at Carroll Technical Institute, in Carrollton, Georgia. That led to a fulfilling career as a patient care technician at Riley Children’s Hospital, where she served for 15 years.
Carrie was a woman of faith, and followed the spiritual leadership of her father, a Deacon in their church. She found joy in speaking about God’s many blessings within her life, especially the gift to witness five generations of her family. Her boundless love is remembered by all who knew her, as her spirit lives on.
In 1969, Carrie was united in holy matrimony with Woodfin Collier. And to this union three children were born.
Carrie was preceded in death by her father, Andrew Hammock Sr., and her brother, Andrew
Hammock Jr.
Carrie is lovingly remembered by her mother, Mae Hammock; her daughters: Stacey (Clifford) Washington, Tracey Clark, and Marchelle (Will) Faison; her grandchildren: Brittany (Augus) Davenport, Arian (Rodriquez) Sherman, Jala Davenport, Andrew Clark, Maliq Washington, and Austin Clark; and her great-grandchildren: Jiah Davenport, Amya Davenport, Kyla Davenport, Xavier Davenport, Rodriquez Sherman Jr., Adele Sherman, and Ryland Sherman.
