Carrie B. Montgomery, aged 83 of Indianapolis, passed away on Wednesday, September 23, 2015. She was born to the late Jesse Jackson and Ellen Jackson on July 22, 1932 in St. Clair, Alabama. Carrie attended and graduated from Pine Apple High School as Vice President of her class in Alabama in 1951. On July 16, 1953, Carrie married Willie James Montgomery and they had four wonderful children. In addition to raising her four children with love and discipline, she worked as a teacher’s aide in the IPS school system until she retired in 1997. Carrie loved traveling, gardening, sewing (especially for her grandchildren), watching the birds feed in her backyard and she made the most delicious homemade rolls from scratch! She is survived by her four children, Patricia A. Barnett, Duane (Pamela) Montgomery, Kevin Montgomery and Willie J. Montgomery Jr. She also leaves behind eight grandchildren and a host of great grandchildren.
