

Bill was born in Mariemont, Ohio to Charles Flick, Sr and Dorothy (Brothers) Flick, growing up in Goshen, Ohio. He graduated from Arlington High School in Indianapolis, Indiana. He married Pauline “Polly” Paro on September 5, 1969 in Indianapolis, Indiana. He worked for the Lawrence Police Department for 20 years, and also served in the United States Air Force. He was active in the American Legion and Lions Club. Upon his retirement, the mayor of Lawrence proclaimed November, 26, 2008 “Charles William Flick Day” in the city of Lawrence, Indiana, in recognition of his service.
Bill is preceded in death by his parents, his sister Ama Dowden, his son Scott, and grand-daughter Ariel.
Bill is survived by his wife of 54 years Polly, his daughter Vonnie (Scott) DeVane, his son David (Kristen) Flick, and grand-children Dylan, Daniel, Emily, Abigail, Sabrina, Hunter, Katie, Megan, Samantha, and Dominic, and one great-grandchild Eden.
Visitation will be from 11am to 1pm on Friday, March 8, 2024 at the Crown Hill Funeral Home, followed by funeral services for friends and family at 1pm. Per Bill’s request, dress will be casual. Brief graveside services for family, at The Crown Hill Cemetery, will follow. Arrangements are made by Crown Hill Funeral Home.
The family wishes to thank his nurse at the Community Cancer Center North, Riley, and the staff at Community Hospice.
