

62, of Indianapolis, departed this life Sunday, April 15, 2012 at home. He was born September 3, 1949 in Louisville, KY to David and Freda (McGovern) Zoeller. Born and raised in New Albany, IN, he was inspired by the character of Atticus Finch in To Kill a Mockingbird to practice law. He attended IU-Bloomington and was a member of the Delta Tau Delta Fraternity. A graduate of the Indiana University Maurer School of Law (1974), Chris served the people of the State of Indiana for over 36 years as a private attorney. He was licensed by the Supreme Court of Indiana, the United States District Courts for the Northern and Southern Districts of Indiana, the United States Courts of Appeals for the 7th Circuit and the United States Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia. He was a member of the Indianapolis Bar Association, The Indiana Bar Association and the American Bar Association. He loved the law.
Chris was an active member and Past Worshipful Master of Prospect F&AM Lodge #714. He also dedicated countless hours as a volunteer at Fairbanks Hospital and the Children’s Guardian Home over the years. Additionally, Chris was a member of Eastside Sertoma, St. Pius X Council of the Knights of Columbus and St. Pius X Catholic Church. A year spent studying in Sweden as an undergraduate inspired a love of language and international travel in each of his children. Chris was an expert in the art of the charcoal barbeque as well as of military history. He was a lover of dogs, a good conversation and his family.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 39 years, Elizabeth “Beth” (Curtis) Zoeller; daughters Katie (Joe) Culp, Amy (Jose Vazquez) Zoeller, Molly (Alkis) Marangos; son, David Zoeller; grandchildren, Jameson and Anna Culp; sister, Susan (Dr. Kevin) Hollis and brothers, Jim (Susan) Zoeller and Rick (Janet) Zoeller. Chris was preceded in death by his parents. Visitation will be from 3 – 8 PM on Friday, April 20th in Feeney-Hornak Keystone Mortuary, 2126 East 71st Street, Indianapolis, 46220. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 AM Saturday, April 21st in St. Pius X Catholic Church, 7200 Sarto Dr., Indianapolis, 46240. Private burial will be Monday, April 23rd St. Mary Cemetery in New Albany, IN. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Chris’ name to Fairbanks, 8102 Clearvista Pkwy., Indianapolis, 46256 (fairbankscd.org) or to Prospect Lodge #714, 2901 S.
