Great memories, Uncle Gene and Aunt Wanda took me to the World's Fair when I was a little girl and we went on so many other trips.  My most vivid memory of one of our trips was when Uncle Gene drove us over the mountains in Tennessee and we were on the cliff side lane ... I looked down and there was no bottom (I think we were above a cloud) I can still feel that feeling of shock, fear and excitement.  The fun memories didn't stop there they just went on and on.  On my last phone call with Uncle Gene in January of this year I told him that I loved him and he giggled and said "you now I have a hard time saying those things", I said, "then I say it for the both of us".  Enjoy your new travels Uncle Gene!!

I have so many favorite memories of Uncle Gene. He and Wanda came to visit us in Florida many times. We had such a good time together. It was fun to watch my girls get him to loosen up and have a good time.  He smiled so much when he was with us. That's what I remember the most I think--that smile. I am thankful for Uncle Gene and Aunt Wanda both for there unconditional love and acceptance. What a gift that was! I feel comforted thinking that my loved ones are together in heaven having a grand reunion.  What a good time they must be having.  I miss you Uncle Gene and pray for peace and comfort for your family and loved ones. Until I see you again....

Uncle Gene was one of my favorite people. When someone makes an effort to be kind and be a part of your life, even when they're 1000 miles away, it just absolutely makes you feel loved 💗 I lived in Indiana for about 6 months when I was 19. There was one day that he and Aunt Wanda took me and my grandma and grandpa and aunt Mary on a drive in his HUGE RV to an outlet mall. That was such a fun and happy day. One of my most favorite memories. He will definitely be missed. 

I loved our "facetime" calls when he was visiting with my sister and brother-in-law. I will miss those calls. May God hold you in his heart forever. Love you. Dee

I have too many great memories of Great Uncle Gene to choose from. But, my most favorite was in middle school. He and Aunt Wanda were visiting our family in Florida, as they did often, and I had a dance coming up at school. Not only did Mom and Dad come to chaperone, but Aunt Wanda and Uncle Gene came too! I invited them and thought there’s no way they’d want to be around a bunch of rowdy teens, but they always took interest in everything their grand nieces did and talked about.  Not only did they stay the entire time, they smiled from ear to ear and seemed to have a lot of fun being with an entire middle school of kids! Uncle Gene was quiet but incredibly smart, generous, kind and absolutely genuine. I’m blessed to have had him so involved in my life. I take comfort in knowing he is joining his loving bride in heaven. One more thing- he is the single person in my childhood who talked finances with me about saving money. He said I must pay myself like I’m paying a bill. He said he and Aunt Wanda were able to travel due to being thrifty, working hard and saving. That is why I can travel now. Because of his financial advice. It may not seem like a big deal to talk to kids about that stuff, but his advice stuck with me and it’s something I eagerly pass along to young people today. RIP Great Uncle Gene. Til I see you on the other side. 💙
