Constance (Connie) A. Winchester - Fink, age 93, passed away peacefully on February 12, 2026, in Indianapolis, Indiana. She was born on September 24, 1932, in Miami, Florida, the daughter of Albert C. and Lucille E. (Carter) Grimm and grew up in Miami and Knightstown, Indiana, the eldest of four siblings. In 1950, she married Julius S. “Judy” Winchester, who died in 1986. Together they had six children: Steve Winchester of Indianapolis, Gary (Marcia) Winchester of Woodstock, Georgia, Julie (Dick) Leach of Gurnee, Illinois, Pam (Matt) Jesch of Kiawah Island, South Carolina, Mary (Steve) Boelke of Carmel, Indiana and BJ Winchester of Indianapolis; 10 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild. She is also survived by her sister, Bette Lou Hauber and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and first husband, she is predeceased by her second husband, John “Jack” Fink, her brother, Albert Grimm Jr., and her sister, Rosemary Grimm.
Connie’s family was her greatest joy, and she embraced her roles as wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and friend with grace and generosity. Her devotion to the needs of others was unwavering. She tirelessly advocated for her developmentally disabled son, BJ with love and determination. She also prioritized an active role in the lives of her grandchildren making numerous trips to attend their activities and celebrate their accomplishments.
Connie was a parishioner at St. Pius X Catholic Church in Indianapolis, where she volunteered in various roles as well as worked as a teaching assistant for 25 years. She served as a board member of the Noble Volunteer League, and the Hollis Adams Foundation where she championed inclusion and support for individuals with developmental disabilities, earning recognition for her outstanding contributions. In addition, she was a long-time volunteer at the Little Sisters of the Poor St. Augustine Home for the Aged.
In 2012, Connie found companionship and happiness in her marriage to Jack Fink. Together, they shared new adventures, traveled, and enjoyed the blessings of family and friendship in their later years.
Connie will be remembered in a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Pius X Church, 7200 Sarto Drive, Indianapolis on February 19, 2026, at 11:00 am. A visitation will be held on February 19, 2026, at 10:00 am at St. Pius. She will be laid to rest at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens, 9700 Allisonville Road, Indianapolis next to her first husband, Julius.
