Daniel Earl Clegg

We are sad to announce the passing of Daniel Earl Clegg on Sunday March 16, 2024. Better known as Danny, he was born in Indianapolis on September 1, 1949. He grew up on the eastside of Indianapolis and graduated from Arsenal Technical High School where he studied auto mechanics. He was an auto mechanic for a few years until he was hired at Indygo (then called Metro Bus). He retired early in 1984 due to health issues.

He was a member of Prospect Masonic Lodge & Eastern Star for over 25 years. Danny was a true gentleman and loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He was known for his wisdom, patience, and sense of humor. As for his family he was the strength, and always there to listen and support them. He always enjoyed working on cars or just helping to fix things. But he truly loved being with his family and creating memories. He loved to play cards. Even going to have a cup of coffee.

Preceded in death by, Mother Leona Britton, Father Harry Clegg, Stepfather Leonard Britton, Father figure Robert Marcattili, Daughter Jennifer Oder, and Grandson Joshua Oder.

He is survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Teresa (Terri) Clegg; Sister, Jacqueline (Jackie his favorite sister) Watts; Children - Kathleen Porter (husband Tommy), Mistalyn Clegg, David Oder, Jonathan Oder, and Anita Moore; Grandchildren - Dustin, Dexter, Andrew, Kendra, Shila, Kevin, MaKaila, Drew, Aries, Trinity, Kaylyn, and Michael; and Great Grandchildren - Liam, Camron, Jovon, Warren, Jrue, and Jameson.

A visitation for Danny will be held at Feeney-Hornak Shadeland Mortuary, 1307 N Shadeland Ave, Indianapolis, IN 46219 on Monday March 24, 2025 from 6pm-8pm and on Tuesday March 25, 2025 from 11am to 12pm. A service will be held on Tuesday March 25 at 12pm at Feeney-Hornak Shadeland. Following the service, a burial will be held at Washington Park East.
