Darius Merriweather grew up in Indianapolis, where his sense of humor, kindness, and “enjoy the moment” outlook first began to shine. He later made his home in Phoenix, Arizona, where his bright spirit and big heart continued to touch everyone around him. Known for his quick wit and easy smile, Darius had a way of filling a room with laughter, lifting spirits, and reminding others to find joy in the little things.
One of the truest reflections of who he was came through his role as a caregiver. The time and love he devoted to his brother revealed the depth of his compassion and the selflessness that defined him. His kindness left an imprint on all who were blessed to know him.
Darius is survived by his mother, Deborah Merriweather, and her wife, Mia Fitts, along with his cherished siblings, Ryan Merriweather and Derek and Sydni Hughes. His family and friends will forever hold close the memory of his humor, his warmth, and his true friendship.
Though his time here was far too short, Darius touched countless lives. His spirit lives on in the laughter he inspired, the love he shared, and the reminder he leaves us all: to treasure every moment.
A visitation for Darius will be held Saturday, September 27, 2025 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Crown Hill Funeral Home, 700 W. 38th St., Indianapolis, IN 46208, followed by a Celebration of Life at 1:00 PM.
