Deacon James E. Underwood, Sr., of Indianapolis, transitioned from labor to reward on the morning of September 4, 2017. He was a member of St. Timothy C.O.G.I.C. Deacon Underwood was a United States Army Veteran and retired from the United States Postal Service. Deacon Underwood leaves to cherish his memory and celebrate his life, loving wife, Rosetta Felton-Underwood; children: James Underwood, Jr. (Cynthia), Milton J. Davis, Jocelyn Fields and Pamela Mason; 4 sisters in law, 5 brothers in law; 5 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends. The visitation is Tuesday, September 12, 2017, 4pm to 7pm at Williams & Bluitt Funeral Home, Peoples Chapel. The second visitation is Wednesday, September 13, 2017, 10am - 11am, with the service at 11am in Serenity the Prince of Peace C.O.G.I.C., 3412 E. Prospect Street. The burial will immediately follow in New Crown Cemetery.
