Debra Ellen Barrett

Debra Ellen Barrett, 66, of Indianapolis, Indiana passed away on Monday, April 19, 2021. Debra was born on October 31, 1954 to the late William J. Barrett Jr. and Mary E. Barrett. Debbie was a long-time parishioner of St. Pius X Catholic Church where she would always make sure to attend Sunday Mass at 11am with her family and good friends Dave and Kathy McNulty. She was also a member of the St. Pius Shawl Ministry. She coached volleyball for over 30 years for St. Pius X, Cathedral, and Bishop Chatard High School. Debbie received both the Monsignor Busald and the St. John Bosco CYO awards, both of which she was very proud of. She spent the last 31 years of her life working for Mussett Nicholas & Associates as their business manager. She showed great pride in her work, and enjoyed knitting, crocheting and cross stitching during her free time. You could always find Debbie on the sidelines of her nieces and nephews or great nieces and great nephews sporting events as their biggest fan! Debra is survived by siblings; Diana Hay, William J. Barrett III (Carol), Denise Tobin (Mike) and Dennis Barrett (Beth). Also surviving is stepmother Phyllis (Markey) Barrett, stepsiblings Phil Markey, Paul Markey (Jackie) and Ann Branson (Jim) and several nieces, nephews and several great nieces and great nephews. She is preceded in death by both of her parents. A visitation for Debra will be held Thursday, April 22, 2021 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Feeney-Hornak Keystone Mortuary, 2126 E. 71st St, Indianapolis, Indiana 46220. A Funeral Mass will occur Friday, April 23, 2021 at 11:00 AM at St Pius X Catholic Church, 7200 Sarto Drive, Indianapolis, Indiana 46240.
