

He attended school in Indianapolis, IN. He graduated from George Washington High School in 1971 and went on to graduate from Vincennes University Aviation Technology Campus Indianapolis, IN May 2000. Dee received his Associate of Science Degree in Aviation Technology (A&P Certification) Aircraft Mechanic and his Bachelor of Science from Purdue University in Aviation Technology on May 9, 2003. Furthering his education, he later received his Master of Science in Aviation Management from Purdue University in May 2005.
Dee worked as a Union Carpenter for 25-plus years before his formal education. He received a Bronze Eagle Award Certificate of Training from the Federal Aviation in 2000. He also received a Customer Training Certificate from Allison Training Course on 250-C20B Familiarization on September 8, 1998.
Very good with his hands, Dee loved to make jewelry and enjoyed working with puzzles. He had about 20 puzzles hanging on his walls at Cumberland Trace Health Care Facility, where he had been a resident since March 12, 2019. Dee was a very good writer. He was working on writing a book.
Dee Roy Waters was united in holy matrimony to Vera Footman-Waters on December 30, 1988, to this union 2 children were born, Dee Roy Waters III who preceded him in death and Eyenne Waters (Indianapolis, IN).
Dee loved to travel; he went on a 10-day trip to Paris along with 30 other students enrolled in the Aviation Technology Program at Purdue University. That was the trip of his life, he never stopped talking about all he saw there. He went on many cruises with several classmates and friends from George Washington High School. He loved the bright lights of Las Vegas and took several trips there.
He is preceded in death by his son, Dee Roy Waters III; his parents, Dee Roy Waters Sr. and Juanita Davis Waters and his sister, Wanda Waters-Skaggs.
He is survived by his daughter, Eyenne Waters; his sister, Vickie (Flame Alligator) Waters; 3 grandchildren: Veronica L. Waters-Walker, Nathan A. Waters and Cameron Dee Roy Waters; great- grandson, Zion Walker and companion of over 30 years, Anita Downing-Overton, who provided care and support at home and at the Nursing Facility, during his many surgeries and illness and serving as his Power of Attorney for many years.
