

Delores Ann Wilson, aged 89, passed away peacefully at her home in Indianapolis, Indiana, on October 19, 2025, surrounded by her loving children. Born on November 23, 1935, to Joshua and Bertha Mae Middleton, Delores lived a life marked by love, faith, and dedication to her family and community.
From her early years, Delores embraced her faith, spending treasured moments with her grandmother reading the Bible and reflecting on past times. She pursued her education at Elder Diggs Elementary and Crispus Attucks High School; both located in Indianapolis.
In her adult life, Delores married Donald H. Wilson, with whom she shared a loving partnership and raised nine children. Her life was filled with joy and warmth, as she cherished the company of her family and friends. Known for her love of nature, Delores often spent time outdoors, tending to her yard and enjoying her favorite soap operas. Endearingly called "Ms. Sweetie" by those who knew her, she was the respected matriarch of her family and the oldest living relative within her immediate circle.
Professionally, Delores dedicated many years to serving at the Meridian Hill County Club and later at the Hilton Hotel, where her exemplary work earned her the Employee of the Year award. Her dedication to her roles left a lasting impression on colleagues and patrons alike.
Delores is survived by her daughters, Diane, Delisa, Donna Wilson, and Sylvia Irvin (Reginald); her sons, Daniel Wilson (Carla) and Dewayne Wilson; her devoted caregiver and best friend, Billie Jo Hensley; twenty grandchildren; fifty great-grandchildren; and many great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joshua and Bertha Mae Middleton; her sister, Katherine Woods; her daughters, Sheila Shiflet and Darlene Gray; her son, Daymon Wilson; and her grandson, Curtis McElwain III and great grandson King LeShawn Thomas.
Delores's legacy is one of love, faith, and resilience, and she will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her memory will continue to inspire and bring comfort to her family and friends.
