Donald E. Williams

Donald E. Williams, 86, of Indianapolis, left this earthly world, surrounded by his family, on March 31, 2024 after a short illness. Don was the son of Sam and Catherine (Gorman) Williams. He attended Howe High School and then went on to study and play golf at the University of Notre Dame. He was a proud Air Force veteran. Don was married to his wife, Theresa, for 62 years. Don and Theresa went on to have three children: Patrick, Michael, and Molly. Don was a successful, independent business owner his entire life. At the time of his death, Don served as President of Moynahan Williams, Inc. His faith was strong and evident as a long-time member of Christ the King Catholic Church. Golf was a lifelong passion for him. He began playing at Pleasant Run Golf Course, continued in college at Notre Dame, and enjoyed many rounds around the world with friends and family. He was a member of 50 years at Highland Golf and Country Club, serving as its President for numerous terms and claiming multiple Club Championship titles throughout the years. He was preceded in death by his parents, siblings (Walter (Mary) Williams and Constance Williams) and son, Patrick N. Williams. He is survived by his wife, Theresa; son, Michael (Chris) Williams; daughter, Molly (Mike Cleary) Williams; former daughter-in-law Leigh Hopkins; grandchildren, Nicholas and Claire Williams, Megan (Tim) Rathz, and Emily (Ben) Lugar, and great-grandchildren Mary and Patrick Rathz, and Noah Lugar. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Christ the King Church in his name. Visitation services will be held April 5, 2024 from 10am to 12pm at Christ the King Catholic Church, 5884 Crittenden Ave, Indianapolis, IN 46220. Mass will be celebrated immediately following at 12pm. A private burial will be held at a later date.
