77, was called home to God on October 23rd surrounded by her family and the love of her life, Richard R. Huffine Sr., on their 57th wedding anniversary. She leaves behind her loving traditions and lasting memories.
Eleanor attended St. Joan of Arc Catholic School, St. Agnes Academy and graduated from Dwyer Business College before working at Eli Lilly. Soon there was no time for work, with the birth of her ten children. She was a busy mom who never tired of cooking, reading, and cheering at the kids’ various sporting events. Oftentimes, she was seen buzzing around town in her station wagon with loads of kids going to the Riviera Club or the DQ. Family life was enhanced by her love of animals.
As a member of Christ the King Catholic Church for 56 years, she participated in the Bowling League, Bridge Club, Festival Committee, Eucharistic Minister, Parish Service League, and CHRP. She was always giving of herself to her children, family, neighbors and friends. She loved to volunteer at St. Vincent de Paul.
Eleanor was most proud of her children and adored her grandchildren. All of them have a special place in her heart. She beamed with pride at family gatherings and enjoyed her favorite place, Palisades Park, Michigan.
She was preceded in death by her parents, M. Robert and Eileen O’Connor Dinnin and her son, Tommy. She is survived by her husband and her 9 children: Sally Breen (Mike), Laurie Breen (Joe), Rich Jr. (Angie), Matt (Susan Jones), Steve (Carolyn), Joe (Lisa), Brian (Cheryl), Nick Huffine, and Amy Lezon (Gene). Eleanor so loved all 19 grandchildren: Michael, Michelle, Claire, and Kevin Breen; Richard III, Mary, Amanda, Emily, Erica, Patrick, Jackson, Hunter, Abbie, Lauren, and Holly Huffine; Heather, Ryan, Sarah, and Josie Lezon. Survivors also include siblings Mary Ann Forsee, Michael, Sister Susan S.P. and Bill Dinnin and 30 cousins.
Visitation will be Thursday, October 27th, from 4-8 pm at Feeney-Hornak Keystone Mortuary. A Funeral Mass to Celebrate Eleanor’s life will be Friday, October 28th at 11 am at Christ the King Catholic Church with a final viewing and prayer service at 10:30 at the mortuary.
