Ernest Anders

28,1925 to the parents of the late Thee Anders and Laura Ellis. Around the age of 18 Ernest moved to

Indianapolis, Indiana in pursuit of a better life.

Ernest later began the trade meat butchering at the Hy-Grade Meat Packing Company in downtown Indianapolis for 19 yrs before they decided to relocate to St. Louis, MO. At that time Ernest decided to enroll and later graduate from Barber College. But this was the Sixties and no one young was getting haircuts, so on September 11, 1967 with the help of a good character reference from an already employed there good friend and fellow deacon at his church at the time Ernest got hired at General Motors as a free metal worker and continued there for 23 more years before retiring December 3L, 1990. Ernest was a member of the Church of the First Born Saints of Indianapolis holding deacon status there for many years before departing forming and pastoring a church of his own for several years, Ernest was blessed with two children from his first marriage.

Ernest was a loving, dedicated and devoted father, brother, uncle and friend. Ernest loved the game of golf

with a passion and continued well into his eighties. ln his younger days as soon as he got off from work in the summertime he would head straight for the golf course hitting balls and practicing until dark. Ernest also loved playing the guitar and piano.

Mr. Ernest Anders departed this earthly life on Sunday July 24,2022 in Indianapolis at the age of 95. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Carol J. Anders; sister, Enner McMillian; sister, Hattie Kirk; sister, Annie Anders; brother, Ray Anders; brother, Elbert Anders; brother, Harlan Anders; brother, Henry Anders. He leaves to cherish his loving memories a son, Harlan D. Anders; grandson, Sean M. Anders; granddaughter, Jasmin D. Anders; a host of nieces and nephews, other relatives, friends and neighbors.

A gravesite ceremony will be held in his memory at 2pm Saturday August 6,2022 at Crown Hill Cemetery with Reverend Danny Thomas officiating.
