

Eugene was one of six beloved children of Bessie B. (Humphrey) Warsaw and George Washington Warsaw Sr., both from Huntsville, Alabama. Eugene grew up in indianapolis on Riverside Drive where he attended Grade School # 44 and went on to attend Arsenal Technical High School, where he graduated in 1970. He attended Christ Missionary Baptist Church under Pastor Melvin Girton. Later in life, Eugene became a member of All Friends Missionary Baptist Church where he served on the Senior Usher Board.
Upon graduation, Eugene began his career serving in the United States Air Force from 1971 - 1974. After Gene’s return home from service, he married Wanda Rhodes and from that union he had 2 sons, Steven and Gregory. He continued to be drawn to working for the United States Veterans Administration in various jobs. In 2006 he married Dorothy Mosley, and they continued to be lifelong friends always in
each other’s corner. Gene worked as a Team Leader at VA Hospital until his failing health no longer allowed him to work.
Gene loved spending time with family and friends, young and old. He had a way of walking into a room and commanding respect without ever saying a word. Gene had a passion for working on cars, shooting pool with his dad and playing bid whist. He loved listening to all genres of music but was phonetic about
instrumental jazz. Gene made everyone feel special and didn’t mind giving advice and encouragement but would check you when he had to. He is remembered for mentoring so many to put God first in their lives.
Eugene Warsaw will be remembered for his coolness, quick wit, loving nature and unfailing faith. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is preceded in death by parents, George & Bessie Warsaw, Son, Gregory Warsaw, Brothers, George Warsaw Jr., Ezra Warsaw, Sister, Barbara Warsaw.
He leaves to cherish his memories ; Son, Steven Warsaw, Daughter, Lentine Steward (Dyrell), Sisters, Joyce Warsaw-Seay (Louis), Pamela Warsaw, Grandchildren, Gregory Warsaw Jr., Paris Warsaw, Anthony Warsaw (Serenity), Kassia Warsaw; Nephews, Ty Gibbs, Gregory Britton, Sean (Samaria), George Warsaw, Cory Warsaw, Niece, Tasha Easter and a host of family and friends.
