

Evelyn Sims was born on March 16, 1932 to James Boston and Eula Mae Edwards Sr. She was educated in Clarke County Georgia public school system. Evelyn was the third of four children. She confessed her faith in the lord at an early age. Evelyn was raised with two sisters and one brother.
Evelyn was married to Benjamin Franklin Sims and soon after moved to Indianapolis, Indiana, shortly after moving to indiana the couple joined the Mt. Paran Missionary Baptist Church where Evelyn was a member for many years. Evelyn enjoyed singing in the choir. She also enjoyed word search puzzles and jigsaw puzzles, bingo was her favorite pasttime with her friends.
Evelyn was also a devoted mother of two amazing children and one wonderful grandson who she adored. she worked as a licensed cosmetologist for many years. She enjoyed cooking and teaching her children her homemaking skills. Evelyn treated all that she knew as family, her favorite scripture was Psalms 23rd. Seeing her children and grandson grow to be adults and achieve life goals brought her much joy in her life.
Evelyn gained her wings on March 07, 2021. She is preceded in death by her parents, sister (Betty Horton), brother (James Edwards Jr.), her husband Pastor Benjamin F. Sims and her daughter Demetra Cain. She leaves to cherish her memory son Danny Sims (Maegan Blake), grandson Kameron Cain, sister(Gwendolyn) and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Services will be held at Crown Hill Funeral Home on March 20, 2021. Viewing is to start at 11a.m. with funeral services to follow at 1p.m.
