 Obituario de Gail Deatline
Barbara "Gail" Deatline, 70, of Indianapolis, Indiana returned home to the Lord on Tuesday, October 27, 2020. Gail was born on August 20, 1950 in Sapporo, Hokkaido, Japan to Emma (Thompson) and Carl Simmons. She graduated from Killeen High School, and earned her cosmetology license at the young age of 16. She continued that line of work for over 50 years. She helped guide her son through the transitions that came with a military lifestyle for 16 years. Through the 90's, Gail worked as a realtor. She was a market consultant, and helped market some of the leading real estate agents in the area. In her later years, Gail became the manager of volunteer services at VistaCare, Odyssey Healthcare, Gentiva Health services, and Kindred Health services. She led the most successful hospice volunteer program in the tri state region. She mentored countless volunteers during her time in hospice care and served as keynote speaker on many occasions. Her volunteer work continued through the Hope Center, where she prayed and worked with women coming out of human trafficking, addictions, and other life-dominating issues. Volunteer work was Gail's passion. Her dedicated, driven, competitive spirit mixed with her kind, caring, Jesus loving heart made her a perfect fit for that line of work. So many were blessed by her wisdom, grace, and love. Through all of that love showed her greatest achievement of all, being a faithful follower of Christ. She led so many others to do the same. She was a leader in the ministry at Indian Creek Church over the past 26 years. Some of the groups she worked with were "Fishers of men" and "Faith, Hope, and Love". She also lead numerous women's retreats to guide all who attended to follow in Christ's footsteps. Gail is survived by her son; Chris Deatline (Angie), and her grandchildren; Anna Grace and Beckett Deatline. She was preceded in death by both of her parents and her brother, Terry Simmons. A visitation for Gail will be held Thursday, November 5, 2020 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at The The Creek Church, 6430 S Franklin Rd., Indianapolis, Indiana 46259, followed by a funeral service at 1:00 PM. A burial will take place at Orchard Hill Cemetery shortly after the service. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Gail's memory may be made to The Hope Center, https://www.hopecenterindy.org/give. Current COVID guidelines will be respected at the services. Per the family's request, no hugging would be preferred during this time.
