

Gennadiy Ignatievich Rybak, 56, of Indianapolis, Indiana passed away on November 28 after a long battle with brain cancer. He was born on February 7, 1967 in St. Petersburg Kronstadt, Russia and was the son of Ignatiy Rybak and Ana Kornievskaya Rybak.
An avid scholar in all things science, Gennadiy graduated with honors from National Aviation University in Kiev, Ukraine with a Masters in Aviation Engineering. Kiev is also where he met his future wife, Lyudmyla Loboda, and they were married on October 20, 2001. After initiating his career in Ukraine, Gennadiy relocated to the United States settling first in Baltimore, Maryland, and eventually moving to Indianapolis where he worked for 15 years at Eli Lilly and Company in Quality IT.
Gennadiy enjoyed traveling and music, but his special passion was science. Research was very important to Gennadiy, particularly with respect to new technologies in the health field. He participated in many clinical trials with the hope of advancing new treatment opportunities for patients fighting cancer and other diseases. For many years until his death, he participated in National Institute of Health (NIH) studies for this purpose.
Gennadiy is survived by his wife of 22 years, Lyudmyla Rybak of Indianapolis; mother, Ana Rybak of Latvia; sister, Viktoria Rybak of Latvia; as well as nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Ignatiy Rybak of Latvia.
Visitation will be held Friday, December 1, 2023 from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, 3500 W. 106th Street, Carmel, IN 46032. A funeral service will immediately follow at 11:00 AM also at the church. Burial will follow at Crown Hill Cemetery in Indianapolis, Indiana.
