George James Ferrell Jr.

68, of Brownsburg, passed away on January 7, 2021, at his home in Brownsburg. Jim was born in Indianapolis to George Ferrell Sr. and Alice Brennan Ferrell on July 27, 1952. He graduated from Carmel High School in 1970 and married Faye Goldstein on August 8, 1976. After graduating from Purdue University while working at P.R. Mallory, he spent his career working as a Senior Systems Analyst for Hewlett Packard and EDS at Allison Transmissions, followed by several years as a Database Engineer for Salesforce. He was a charter member and longtime treasurer of Unitarian Universalist Community Church in Danville. Jim was preceded in death by older brother Nick Ferrell and older sisters Claudia Talesnick and Gloria Ferrell. Jim is survived by his wife Faye Ferrell; children Anna Robinson [Paul Robinson], Douglas Ferrell, and Laurie Ferrell; grandchildren Gabriel and Claire Robinson; sister Becky Smith [Wally Smith]; brother Jeff Ferrell; brother-in-law Stanley Talesnick; sister-in-law Patsy Ferrell; and nieces and nephews Stacia Skillman, Greg Skillman, Scott Skillman, Jeff Ferrell, Christy Ferrell, Doug Smith, and Wallace Smith. Memorial services will be held at a later date due to COVID-19. In lieu of flowers, the family of Jim Ferrell requests donations be made to the IU Simon Cancer Center for colorectal cancer.
