Geraldine E. Sweeney,85, passed away December 12, 2009. Geraldine was born June 14, 1924 to Harry and Mary Ellen (Brickley) Lord. Geraldine was a millinery buyer for L.S. Ayres and after raising her children was a tutor of math and English for I.P.S and later worked at the office of Catholic Education. She was a member of Little Flower Catholic Church and a lifelong member of Sigma Iota Alpha Sorority. Geraldine was preceded in death by her husband: Robert C. Sweeney and her son: Terrance Sweeney. She is survived by her children: Timothy (Claudia) Sweeney, Patrick Sweeney, Mary Sweeney, Michael (Michele) Sweeney, Daniel Sweeney, Dennis (Becki) Sweeney, Kathleen (Mike) Bewsey, and Brigid (Tom) Gedig, 8 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be Tuesday, December 15, 9:30 am at Feeney-Hornak Shadeland Mortuary with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in Little Flower Catholic Church. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday, December 14, from 4:00 – 8:00 pm at the mortuary. Contributions may be made to Multiple Sclerosis Society or Alzheimer’s Association.
