Gustine Elizabeth Crumpton (Lambert), lovingly known as Tina or Lil-N-Cute, was born on February 11, 1940, in Henderson, Kentucky, to Alberta (Eaves) and James Lambert. She moved to Indianapolis, Indiana at an early age and later met and fell in love with her future husband.
On February 7, 1959, she married the love of her life, Alex Crumpton. Together they built a beautiful family, raising four children – three sons and one cherished daughter.
Tina began her career as a nurse’s aide, caring for others with gentleness and dedication. She later retired from the United States Post Office in 1978.
On November 1, 1969, Tina was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Greenville, Ohio. In true Tina fashion, her baptism was memorable—she had to be submerged three times because her foot kept rising out of the water. Her faith remained a guiding light throughout her entire life.
Tina was a caregiver from her earliest days. She was known for her loving and compassionate nature, always extending kindness to those around her. Her passion for sewing and nurturing beautiful plants reflected the care and creativity she brought into every part of her life.
Tina listened with an open heart and never judged. She was beautiful inside and out, the best wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. Her personality was vibrant—always ready with a joke, a witty comeback, and a smile that warmed every room.
She departed this life surrounded by love, leaving behind a legacy of compassion, humor, and faith.
Tina is preceded in death by her husband, Alex Crumpton; sons Darryl D., Alex R., and Terrance E. Crumpton; parents Alberta and James Lambert; brothers Samuel “Gene” Lambert and Fernell Vaughn; grandparents Jesse James (PaPa) and Annie Bell Lambert; and her best friend Ollie Green.
She leaves to cherish her memory her daughter, Kathryn Crumpton, and daughter-in-love, Luciana Crumpton. She was blessed with five grandchildren: Darryl Crumpton Sr., Shirley Ann Crumpton, Alexandria Crumpton, Michael Crumpton, and Jewell Clayton.
She also embraced “grandchildren in love”: Anthony “Marty” Warren, Margaret “Sissy” Warren, Keion Perkins, Josephine “Sade” Durden, and Joseph Durden. Her sisters-in-love include Plummie Crumpton, Connie Lambert, Barbara O’Neal, and Joyce Vaughn, and her devoted best friend Willie B. Harris.
She is also survived by her siblings-in-love Freda “Ann” Darden, Edith Marie “Sister” Williams, Frank “Sonny” Darden Jr (Pat), Carrie Darden, Joyce “Bunnie” Darden, Pamela Watkins (Ralphfell)
Beyond her immediate family, she leaves a legacy of love carried on by nieces, nephews, cousins, and countless friends who were like family to her.
