He was a steadfast believer whose life was a testament to his unwavering faith.
Drafted into the U.S. Army on July 12, 1951, Henry served on the front lines during the Korean War, demonstrating bravery.
On August 14, 1987, he married Elnora McBride, and together they celebrated 24 years of marriage and raised four children before her untimely passing.
Henry's life was a vibrant tapestry of faith, family, and a passion for automobiles.
His dedication to his church ministries reflected his deep commitment to his beliefs and community. Whether he was serving on the usher board or showcasing his craftsmanship in carpentry, Henry brought a unique zeal to every endeavor. His transition to Life Church Eagle Creek after moving to Indianapolis marked a new chapter in his spiritual journey, one that he embraced with the same fervor as his previous congregation at New Covenant Assembly of God.
Henry's infectious laughter and love for a good joke were as much a part of him as his faith. His enthusiasm for cars wasn't just a hobby; it was a way of connecting with others, creating memories on road trips with his family, and sharing his knowledge and skills. Henry's legacy is one of joy, service, and the open road—a life well-lived and well-loved.
Henry previously worked as a Head custodian in Gary, Indiana. His commitment to excellence in maintaining
the schools and his contributions to the community have touched the lives of many. His retirement from
the Gary Community School Corporation marked the end of an era, but his legacy continues to shine in the
halls he cared for and the hearts of those he has helped.
Henry’s life journey concluded on October 20, 2024 in the warmth of his family's presence. As he passed away
