Howard A. Martin

Howard A. Martin 96, of Indianapolis passed away Friday August 27, 2010. Born in Franklin Twp., Marion County, the son of the late Edward and Ida (Waterman) Martin. He is survived by Josephine (Tomamichael) Martin, his wife of 68 years; son Howard (Diane) Martin; daughters Barbara (Noel) Becker, Jeanette (Bill) Thomas. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild and was preceded in death by 1 grandson. Howard was a lifetime farmer in Franklin Twp. and was a member of the St. John Lutheran Church his entire life, having served on many boards through the years. He was a Veteran of WWII having served in the 127th Armored Ordnance Division. Howard served on the Franklin Twp. School board for 12 years and was an active member of the Marion County Farm Bureau and the Marion County Soil and Water Conservation Board. He also was an officer and member of the Growers Mutual Insurance Co. Advisory board. Funeral Services will be Monday August 30 2010 at 11:00 AM in St. John Lutheran Church 6630 Southeastern Ave. Indianapolis, In. 46203 with Visitation at the church from 10:00 till time of service. Visitation will also be held Sunday August 29th 4:00-8:00 PM at Little & Sons Funeral Home 4901 E. Stop 11 Rd. Indianapolis, In 46237.
