Born on February 13th, 1936, in Middlesboro, Kentucky, Jacqueline was the sole child of Francis Miller, affectionately known as “Mamma Frankie,” and Clinton Anthony Jr. Tragically, when Jacqueline was just five years old, her father passed away. To provide for her, her mother, Francis Miller, had to relocate to
Indianapolis, Indiana in search of employment. In the meantime, her grandmother, Katherine R. Miller Wallace, affectionately known as “Nana,” raised Jacqueline until she reached the age of eighteen.
After completing her education in Middlesboro, Kentucky, and graduating from Middlesboro Kentucky Lincoln High School, Jacqueline enrolled at Kentucky State University for a year before relocating to Indianapolis, Indiana, with her mother, Mama Frankie.
Throughout her career, Jacqueline worked as a private nurse, traveling extensively with her patient, Ms. Martindale, across the globe. In her free time, Jacqueline engaged in various hobbies, including hosting card parties, cooking, spending time with her family, fishing, crocheting, golfing, and swimming.
Years later, Jacqueline married Ralph Ford, and they had a daughter named Kathy Ford. Subsequently, she married Calvin Robert Newbolt, and they had three daughters: Tanya, Andrea, and Kimberly Newbolt.
Relocating to Michigan, Jacqueline joined General Motors Corporation as a registered nurse at the V8 Flint Assembly Plant in Flint, Michigan. This is where Jacqueline met the love of her life, Hugh Van Fossen III, affectionately known as Grandpa Van. Their paths crossed at General Motors, where Jacqueline worked as a registered nurse, and Grandpa Van served as a security guard for Pinkerton.
Her dedication and expertise led her to complete her master’s degree at the University of Michigan. With this education, she became a supervisor overseeing all registered nurses within the Delphi Automotive division.
Hugh and Jacqueline were blessed with a 43-years of marriage while happily helping to raise their grandchildren until Grandpa Van was called home to join the Lord.
Jacqueline leaves behind four cherished daughters: Kathy Ford, Tonya Newbolt, Andrea Newbolt Billings (Steve Billings), and Kim Newbolt. Her family is also filled with nine grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, and three great-great grandchildren.
Jacqueline was preceded in death by her grandparents, mother, Francis Miller, affectionately known as “Mamma Frankie,” father, Clinton Anthony Jr, Aunt Mary, Granddaughter Kristin Bellamy, and husband, Hugh Van Fossen III, also known as Grandpa Van.
The family of Jacqueline would like to express their deepest gratitude to Grace Emmanuel Baptist Church, Pastor Terrence King, and Pastor Joseph Pruitt of Kingdom Ministry. We also want to thank her caregivers, Robert and Chelsea Wade, and her Nurse, Sarah RN, from McLaren Hospice.
A visitation for Jacqueline will be held Saturday, August 23, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Crown Hill Funeral Home, 700 W. 38th St., Indianapolis, IN 46208, followed by a Celebration of Life at 11:00 AM.
