

Buddy was born in Indianapolis, Indiana to James E. Coffman and Naomi "Faye" Coffman (Farran) on November 11, 1945. He grew up on the West side of Indianapolis and graduated from George Washington High School in 1964. He married the love of his life Janet L. Coffman (Zore) on October 10, 1964 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Indianapolis. Buddy worked at Link Belt and R.T. Moore before starting his own plumbing business of 40 years, J.W. Coffman Plumbing. Buddy was a member of the Masonic Lodge for over 50 years. He was an avid I.U. basketball fan and loved the Indianapolis 500. He thoroughly enjoyed spending time with his family, talking to friends on the phone, helping friends in need and was always on the hunt for a good bargain.
Buddy is preceded in death by both his parents.
He is survived by his wife Janet Coffman and sister Sylvia "Sue" Stabler (Norman). He was blessed with three children, Jeffery Coffman, Michele Gitchel (Kim) and James Coffman II (Kellie); four grandchildren, Tiffanee Gitchel, Thomas "Tommy" Gitchel, Logan Coffman and Cameron Coffman; one great grandchild, Hadlee Pingel.
Visitation will be from 11am to 1pm on Friday, March 13, 2020 at Crown Hill Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at 1pm at Crown Hill Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Crown Hill Cemetery with a reception following after. Arrangements are being handled by Crown Hill Funeral Home and Cemetery.
