James Carlyle Skaggs, 79, of Indianapolis, Indiana passed away September 21, 2020 at IU Methodist Hospital. He was born March 17, 1941 in Bowling Green, Kentucky the son of the late James Rugal and Betty Ray (Gregory) Skaggs. He was a machine operator with ConAgra (formerly Evans Mills) retiring in 2000 after more than 30 years. He also worked for Internal Services at Indianapolis International Airport for 4 years. He was a member of Springhill Christion Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, David, Fred and Eddie Skaggs; and an infant sister.
James is survived by his wife of almost 50 years, Rebecca (Meyers) Skaggs; his daughter, Shirley M. Hines and her husband Dennis; his brothers Chester and Don Skaggs and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held 1:00 PM, Monday, September 28, 2020 at Family Funeral Care, 5791 Rockville Road, Indianapolis, Indiana 46224. Visitation will be from 11:00 AM until the service time at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions in James's memory may be made to the Springhill Christian Church Mission Fund.
