Jeffrey Forrest Child

Jeffrey Forrest Child, age 72, of Indianapolis, Indiana passed away on Saturday, April 6, 2024. He was born April 21, 1951 in Carlock, IL to the late Russell K. Child and Laura Jean (Hadden) Child. He grew up on his family's farm in Carlock. Jeff graduated from Normal Community High School in Normal, IL. He went on to received his BA from Eureka College, Eureka, IL and his MA in Pastoral Care and Counseling from Christian Theological Seminary, Indianapolis, IN. Jeff was a psychotherapist who worked at Gallahue Mental Health Center, Shelbyville, IN and Indiana Health Group, Carmel, IN. He retired in 2018 from Indiana Health Group. Jeff loved his profession and said that it brought purpose to his life. He practiced Tae Kwon Do most of his adult life and achieved a 7th degree black belt. He was a dedicated student of Tae Kwon Do until his health no longer allowed him to practice. Jeff was a devoted husband and father and is survived by his wife, Kathy Dunn-Child of 45 years; son, Sean Child; sisters, Gail Litwiller (Joe) and Janet Crews (Roland); sister in law, Mary Ann Dunn-Ward (Bob); nieces, Joy Bruniga (Matt), Laura Beth Hieser (Casey) and Jenny Kimball; nephews Dane Litwiller (Dana) and Kristopher Komakech. A visitation will be held on Saturday, April 20th, 2024 from 1 PM to 3 PM at Feeney-Hornak Keystone Mortuary, 2126 E. 71st Street, Indianapolis, IN 46220. A service is to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Lung Association or United Ostomy Associations of America, Inc. (UOAA)
