Jeff was the proud father of seven children, a role he held with pride and deep devotion. But his love and guidance didn’t stop there. Over the years, he became a father figure to so many more. Whether you were family by blood or simply by heart, he made room for you. He believed in people, took care of them, and treated everyone with the same kindness and respect he gave his own.
He worked tirelessly throughout his life, not only to accomplish his own goals but to ensure his family and those around him had everything they needed. He worked various jobs before founding his own company, JJ Karma Caulking. His work ethic was unmatched, his determination unwavering, and his example taught everyone who knew him the true meaning of dedication and perseverance.
Though he was a man who worked hard, he also knew how to have a good time. He had a sharp sense of humor, a deep appreciation for laughter, and a knack for turning ordinary moments into unforgettable memories. His presence filled a room, and his stories, laughter, and love will be remembered by all who had the privilege to know him.
He leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and generosity through his children, grandchildren, and all those who were lucky enough to call him family, friend, or simply someone who made their life a little better. His spirit lives on in the lessons he taught, the kindness he showed, and the hearts he touched.
He will be deeply missed, but never forgotten.
Jeff is survived by his wife of 36 years, Maria Pugh James, and his children: Katie Hutchinson (Justin), Rebecca James (Thomas Dykes), Jessica James, Melanie James, Amanda James, Molly James, Asha Alvarado, Tim Rhemel, and Nikki Hartz (Jesse).
He was a proud grandfather to Mackenzie, Makaila, Jordynn, Maci, Jenna, Isabella, T.J., Jeffrey, Stella, and Aniya, and a beloved uncle to Chris (Jenn) James, Ava James and many great-nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ava Francis and Vonnie Pauline James; his brothers, Gregg and Brian James; and his sisters, Linda Thompson, Jo Mackison, and Ruth Ann Doom.
A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, August 3, 2025, with visitation from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM, followed by family and friends sharing stories, laughs, and memories.
