

Jennie Sanders, affectionately known as Mickey, was born in Smyrna, Tennessee to Andrew & Lena Jenkins on October 30, 1936. She graduated from Emmerich Manual Training High School in 1955.
Jennie joined in holy matrimony to John Sanders on July 29, 1963, and to this union Rene’a Bogan was born. She was also stepmother to Floyd Sanders, Donald Sanders, Linda Sanders, Norman Sanders, Ramona Walton, Mark Sanders, James Sanders, and Sharon Little.
Jennie at an early age, accepted Jesus Christ in her life. She was a member of Mount Calvary Baptist Church.
Jennie retired from Western Electric. In her free time she loved spending time with her family, sewing, doing puzzles, and playing cards.
Jennie is preceded in death by: parents Andrew and Lena Jenkins, husband; John Sanders, siblings: Ann Fitzgerald, James Jenkins, Ella Jenkins, Andrew Jenkins Jr., Thurman Jenkins, and Jerry Jenkins.
Jennie leaves to cherish her memory, her Daughter Rene’a Bogan (Vernon), Stepchildren: Linda Sanders, Norman Sanders, and Sharon Little, Sisters: Elizabeth Alexander, Loretta Jenkins and Linda Smith. Grandchildren: Maelisha Coleman, A’Shanti Turntine (Dontae), Vernon Bogan, and Great-Grandchild Aliyana Offett, and a host of nieces, nephews, step grandchildren, and step great grandchildren.
Visitation will be Saturday May 27, 2023, at 10:00 am – 12:00 pm at Crown Hill Cemetery Indianapolis, IN
Funeral services will be held Saturday May 27, 2023, at 12:00 pm at Crown Hill Cemetery Indianapolis, IN with the Reverend Ronald Covington Sr. Pastor of Friendship Ministry Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will follow at Crown Hill Cemetery Mausoleum. Arrangements are by Crown Hill Funeral Home.
