

He joined Concord Missionary Baptist Church in Clarksville Tennessee and was baptized during his early childhood. He attended the public schools in Clarksville, TN.
He was lovingly called "June Bug" by his sister, Lottie Brown who preceded him in death. They shared a very close bond with each other.
He married and left Clarksville, Tennessee in the early 1950s seeking better job opportunities in Indianapolis, IN. Once arriving in Indianapolis, his Aunt Martha and Uncle VC Johnson welcomed him and his wife to live with them until they could get established.
He joined Galilee Missionary Baptist Church in the 1950s. He was active in the Male Chorus.
Jeremiah and his wife were blessed with two chil-dren. His oldest daughter, Patricia A. Hodges-Mitchell preceded him in death.
He worked at multiple factories in Indianapolis during the 1950s through the 1970s with his last employment at Indiana University Hospital in the 1980s.
Jeremiah remarried in the mid-1980s to Naomi Cage, who preceded him in death.
Jeremiah enjoyed being with his family and friends. He was always telling stories and making people laugh.
He enjoyed driving. He would be the driver the majority of the time in the carpool commuting from Indianapolis to the Chrysler Plant in Kokomo, Indiana to work during the 1960s and 1970s. He called himself the "Road dawg" since many of the guys in the carpool preferred him to drive. He would brag about not ever getting a speeding ticket while the other guys would get stopped.
He voluntarily gave his car keys to his daughter at age 83 and told her "You're the boss, my driving days are over".
Jeremiah was very much loved by family and friends.
He peacefully took his last breath on August 13, 2020 with his daughter at his bed side.
Jeremiah is survived by daughter, Deborah Nich-olas, lndpls, IN (Clayton), grandchildren, lndpls, IN, Eric and Annita Nicholas, brother, Marlon McKeage, Clarksville, TN, niece, Darlene Smith (Carl), Clarksville, TN, nephew, Larnell Tyler, Clarksville TN, and many other relatives.
