

Arkansas, the son of the late General Scott and the late Helen
Durnham Scott.
Jessie attended Aubrey Elementary School. Jessie professed a
hope in Christ at an early age at the Third Zion Baptist Church in
Marianna, Arkansas.
Jessie moved to Indianapolis, Indiana, where he united with
the New Hope Missionary Baptist Church under the late Rev.
Butler and remained a life time and faithful member until his
passing.
Jessie was employed by Sonith Foundry for twenty years and
later with C&G Potts Foundry for twenty years before retiring in
1982.
Jessie united in Holy Matrimony to the former Ms. Massie Lee
Daniels and later he united in Holy Matrimony to the former Ms.
Irene Rebecca Coleman. They enjoyed fifty-five years of Marital
Bliss until she preceded him in death on April 6, 2003.
Jessie loved his family and a lively game of Checkers. Jessie was
a loving father, grandfather, great grandfather, great-great
grandfather, uncle, cousin, and friend, who will be sadly missed
by all who knew and loved him.
Mr. Jessie Scott departed this life on Saturday, July 28, 2012 at
the age of 89 years, 2 months, and 54 days. Jessie was also
preceded in death by one daughter, Theresa Scott and all his
siblings, Lee Scott; Thomas Williams; Minnie Williams; Ida Duvall;
Leola McCory and Rosemary Scott.
Jessie leaves to cherish his memory beloved children, sons,
Charles E. Gilbert (Gilbert); Shawn Scott, and Opera Moore;
daughter, Sherry Mays (Richard); special grandson Donta Weaver;
special great grandson, Greg Smith; 15 grandchildren; 32 great
grandchildren; 8 great-great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends. Services will be held Saturday Aug. 4, 2012 at New Hope M.B.C. 2025 Winter Ave. at 12 noon. Calling from 10:00 a.m. Burial: Floral Park Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to Williams & Bluitt Funeral Home.
