Mr. Jesus Mario Perez, age 91 of Carmel, Indiana, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 14, 2018. He was born in Cuba in 1927 to humble beginnings and became a translator for the U.S. military at the age of 13. He was an Army veteran of World War II and the Korean War. While stationed in Germany, he met his life long partner and wife, Irma. Theirs was a love which knew no barrier and she was by his side up to his last breath. Following his service, he moved to the U.S. where he obtained a GED followed by a Bachelor's and Master's Degree. Mario was and is the embodiment of the American Dream. He is survived by his five loving and successful children; Elizabeth Huard, Donald Perez, Belinda Willoughby, James Perez and William Perez. He was the grandfather to 19 and the great grandfather to 22.
