John K. Griffin, 80, of Indianapolis passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on March 31, 2021. John was born in Indianapolis the son of the late John P. and Helen (King) Griffin. He was a graduate of Scecina Memorial High School Class of 1959, and a US Air Force Veteran. He graduated from the Indiana College of Mortuary Science in 1966, ITT in 1968 with an Electronic Technician Degree. He worked for Bio-Dynamics as a supervisor in Electronic Instrument Quality Control. He then worked as a Clinical Engineer for Community Hospital until his retirement in 2003. He was a 3rd Degree Knights of Columbus, a member of the Holy Spirit Parish, and a longtime resident of the East Side Catholic Community. He enjoyed life and had a talent for making people smile. He was preceded in death by his parents, his beloved wife, Jean Ann (Jones) Griffin, his sister, Mary Regina Griffin.
He is survived by his children; Theresa Jasper (Steve), Patrick Griffin (Kris), Amy Giesler (Bart) and Jennifer Martinelle (Nick); his much loved grandchildren, Michele (Charlie), Spencer, Henry, Charlie, Ryan, Isabelle, and Sydney.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.on Tuesday, April 6, 2021 at Feeney-Hornak Shadeland Mortuary, 1307 N. Shadeland Ave., Indianapolis, Indiana. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 7, 2021 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 7243 E. 10th Street, Indianapolis, Indiana 46219. Entombment will be in Calvary Cemetery with military rites.
