86, of Indianapolis, died April 30, 2011. He was born January 26, 1925 in Indianapolis the son of John E. and Florence (Ertel) Nelson. He was the owner of Nelson Industries for 14 years. He served in the United States Navy during WWII. He was a member of St. John Catholic Church where he was an Eucharistic minister and active volunteer. John is the widower of Mary E. Nelson. He is survived by his daughters: Nancy (Ronald) Wampner, Mary Lynn (Dick) Parks, Deborah (John) Brown, son John Nelson Jr., 7 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday May 4 at 10 am at St. John Catholic Church. Visitation will be Tuesday May 3 from 4 – 8 pm at Feeney-Hornak Shadeland Mortuary.
