He was hardworking and selfless . I got stood up on a date for my birthday and when he found out I was at the restaurant alone he dropped everything to come . I caught a flat on his birthday last year and he popped up at the tire place just to make sure they weren’t trying to get over on me despite me telling him I was ok . We spoke late September  , I think I often underestimate how fragile life is . I just wanted the family to know he imprinted on the hearts of many  . Though I’ve never met any immediate family aside from miss Jada he’s shared his stories especially about his sister Tiffany. This is the first loss for me that brings our mortality into perspective and it hurts, it’s surreal , and I pray that the comforter is sent to all of you . 

Thinking of you guys, praying the Father wraps his loving arms of comfort around you during this time and beyond.

We, the families of The Compassionate Friends, send you our heartfelt condolences on John’s passing.
The Compassionate Friends is an international, non-denominational, grief support group for parents, grandparents and siblings who have suffered the heartbreaking loss of a child.  Our only mission is to provide comfort, hope and support to every family experiencing the death of a son or daughter, brother or sister, or grandchild, and to help others better assist the grieving family.
We meet monthly on the first Wednesday at the New Hope Church, 5307 Fairview Rd, Greenwood, IN 46142 and on the third Tuesday at the Epworth United Methodist, 6450 Allisonville Road, Indianapolis, IN 46220.  Both meetings begin at 6:30pm.
If, and when, you are ready to do so, please join us for either, or both, meetings.

John! I miss talking to you for hours, I miss all the times we shared and all the laughs we had! It’s IT It was such an honor being your friend! I thank God that you impacted my life in such a positive way. As I’m writing this, I’m grieving and I’m hurt that you were taking away from me so fast. But I can’t be selfish. I remember you telling me how much you were in pain and now your not in pain. Your In a better place. You are my Angel. I’ll love you for eternity!! I remember you sent me the eternity sign to symbolize our friendship and I responded “this is forever”. I’ve never met a man like you that’s so smart, intelligent and such an amazing Father. I adored everything about you. YOU ARE MY FRIEND FOR ETERNITY! And I will still talk to you daily❤️ Love Kia!

U was my bonus son JJ . U was so much there for Anthony when he was doing wrong but when he was doing right u was happy for him u always came though no matter what . I remember u calling me saying MOMMA JANICE I’m on my way I could see the pain in your eyes . But I told you it was going too be okay . JJ I’m going to miss you so much now I have too deal with this heartache. U an Anthony continue 2 FLY HIGHER 🕊🕊🕊

I Played Football with JJ at Tech! When I became the Head Football Coach at Shortridge HS he was one of the first people I called to coach with me! He will be missed. I’m pretty sure we just lost a game in this pick of he and I. JJ was full of Joy, big smiles and the kids loved him. 

 You were waaaay beyond your years (that’s why I called you old man lol). You had soo much knowledge and wisdom and wasn’t afraid to share it with the world. I think it’s safe to say that you impacted many of us in a positive way. I will never forget all the things your taught me. And because of you I am a better person today. You were an Angel just passing by… then God ordered you to return home. You have completed your mission by making this world a better place. I know that you’re good, we’re the ones who are suffering because life is not the same . However, I feel your presence… I see you in the Sun, the Clouds, the Stars! Since the day God called you home the sun has never shined soo bright! This is NOT a goodbye… see you soon my friend ❤️

Since the day we met we linked..You were so intelligent and charismatic...You taught me a lot of things..I will cherish all the books we read and discussed..Out intense conversations that often turned into debates unforgettable ‼️😂You even opened my eyes to religious contradictions..I miss you my guy and can't believe you're gone😢Rest Up🕊Until we meet Again .....Live in the Sky 🕊💙
