Karen Sue Mottor

She was born April 27, 1944, in Pekin, IL to Harry and Uvonne (Carter) Howe. She married Richard (Dick) Mottor on June 25, 1965 in Creve Coeur, IL. In June, they would have celebrated 60 years of wonderful marriage together. He survives.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her daughter, Tami (Daniel) Fitzgerald of Avon, IN, her son, Kevin (Denise) Mottor of Loves Park IL, four grandchildren, Nichole Fitzgerald, Kristen (Ben) Mancroni both of Avon, Parker (Emma) Mottor of Apex, NC, and Braden Mottor of Pensacola, FL, as well as one great-grandson Slade Bradley Mottor. Also surviving are nieces, nephews, and many cousins. Her parents, and one sister, Careth Gilliland, preceded her in death.

Sue graduated from both East Peoria High School, class of 1962, and Tennessee Temple University, class of 1965.

She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She adored her grandchildren, and thought they hung the moon. She was the most faithful and dedicated woman to the Lord, and her whole family. Her family was an important part of her life, and she prayed for each of them daily. She left a thumbprint on each of their lives that will be remembered for all eternity.

She was a member of Crosspointe Baptist Church in Indianapolis, and a former member of El Vista Baptist Church in Peoria. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her!

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 3, 2025 from 10:00 to noon at Crosspointe Baptist Church in Indianapolis followed by a funeral service at noon with her son in-law, Pastor Dan Fitzgerald officiating. An additional visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 4, 2025 from 11:00 to noon at Davison-Fulton Woolsey-Wilton Funeral Home in Peoria. Private burial for immediate family will follow at Parkview Cemetery.
