Katherine M. Dailey (Corlew), was born on September 22, 1967 to her parents Jerry and Constance Corlew and had two older brothers, Ed and Kevin Glenn. They settled down in Dexter, Missouri, where her parents remained until their deaths.
Katie joined the U.S. Army at 18, where she served for 4 years, in Yakima, WA. She left the Army as an E-4, Specialist. During her time in the military, she married and had her daughter, Jerrica Dickens (Dailey).
Katie moved to Indianapolis after her contract ended, where her (then) husband’s family resided and easily welcomed her into the family. She then had her son, Nathan Dailey. Katie started her career at the Veterans' Administration where she proudly served veterans for 30 years. Her children grew up and started their own families, giving her 3 granddaughters, which she calls her bosses. Boss 1- Desilyn Dickens, Boss 2- Connie Dickens, and Boss 3- June Dailey.
In 2017, Katie had appendicitis, which lead them to discover she had colorectal cancer that had already metastasized to her lungs. They said she had around 1-3 years left to enjoy, she told them she would be better than that! She continued to fight for 8.5 years, having her bosses' keep her on her toes!
She passed away on July 10th at home, surrounded by family and her closest friends.
